Then I’m Walking in Memphis…

My new dress is The Memphis by Ellie and Mac. I have been sewing a lot of Ellie and Mac lately because they sew up quickly and are always trendy. Also I have nagged Lindsey enough that she went up one more size to a 5X.

Features:

Four sleeve options

Ruffle skirt hem option

Lined bodice with back seam detail

No trim pattern pages

Layers printing feature is included for this pattern for your convenience.

Memphis Ellie and Mac

This pattern has a fully lined bodice and a gathered skirt. It sewed up quickly which is always a win for me to be honest. I doubled the length of my sleeve ruffles and folded them in half so it wouldn’t show plain white on the inside to get this look. That made them extra full and extra girlie. This fabric is also extra girlie. πŸ™‚ Plus I got to sew up some more Sly Fox DBP for this one. Honestly, it has been a pleasure to sew with.

Take notice of the flooding in the background. Our weather is protesting spring and we have been having a lot of wind and rain. Here is where the wind pics begin.

Crazy hair and squinty eyes ahead. Proceed with caution. πŸ™‚

Why yes, I am driving the train with my eyes closed.

Dear Wind, Please stop, you are ruining my pictures! Thanks.

Eyes open, Hair please calm down.

Memphis Ellie and Mac

Do you guys know the song walking in Memphis? No? You should…here are the lyrics!
This pattern is currently on sale so pick it up for a steal.
Walking in Memphis
Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy, won’t you look down over me
Yeah, I got a first class ticket
But I’m as blue as a boy can be
Then I’m walking in Memphis
Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel?
Saw the ghost of Elvis
On Union Avenue
Followed him up to the gates of Graceland
Then I watched him walk right through
Now security they did not see him
They just hovered ’round his tomb
But there’s a pretty little thing
Waiting for the King
Down in the Jungle Room
When I was walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel?
They’ve got catfish on the table
They’ve got gospel in the air
And Reverend Green be glad to see you
When you haven’t got a prayer
But, boy, you’ve got a prayer in Memphis
Now Muriel plays piano
Every Friday at the Hollywood
And they brought me down to see her
And they asked me if I would
Do a little number
And I sang with all my might
She said
“Tell me are you a Christian child?”
And I said “Ma’am, I am tonight”
Walking in Memphis
(Walking in Memphis)
Was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
(Walking in Memphis)
But do I really feel the way I feel?
Walking in Memphis
(Walking in Memphis)
I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
(Walking in Memphis)
But do I really feel the way I feel?
Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain

Would you like Coffee or Tea?

This time, I choose coffee…. The Coffee Cardigan!!

This has finally release for the curvy ladies up to size 40W.Β  Yes!!

Coffee Cardia

Design Features Include:

  • Two Distinct Design Styles (Coffee & Tea)
  • Classic or Duster Length
  • Fitted or Relaxed Sleeves
  • Short or Long Sleeves w/ Optional Sleeve Cuffs
  • Optional Pockets
  • Slim or Wide Bands

I choose the Coffee version in the shorter length with short sleeves. Winter is nearly over and I want to wear this one while longer. I added the slim bands and skipped the pockets mostly because I didn’t have enough fabric. πŸ™‚

Coffee and tea Cardigan

I used a Poly Rayon Spandex Blend for mine and I love how soft it feels. I purchased it from Sly Fox. πŸ™‚

This is the first pattern I have sewn for Annelaine and was impressed with how well the pattern came together. The directions were clear and the outcome was pretty.

Would you like to “Be Mine?”

Be Mine Cardigan by Ellie and Mac

It is still cardigan season in Ohio and I just sewed up another one. πŸ™‚ The latest release from Ellie and Mac is basically adorable. I am still debating on what sleeve length I want, so I haven’t hemmed them yet. I think they are going to be 3/4 length which will be nice for spring. We will see. This is one of life’s tough decisions – no doubt.Β  I will go with slouchy for another wear before deciding.

Ellie and Mac, Be Mine, Cardigan

This cardigan comes in women’s sizes XXS-4X. Plus there is a kiddo version for your Mommy and Me pics!

The Women’s Be Mine Cardigan Pattern features a hi-low bodice, gathered skirt in three lengths, and sleeve options! All these options give ya more bang for your buck!

Ellie and Mac, Be Mine, Cardigan

I did a bust adjustment to accommodate for my busty-ness and I think it helped my styling overall here. I added 2 inches to the bodice and removed 2 inches for the skirt length to get this proportion. This cardi comes with length options included, but I just freestyled a bit. That’s how I sew most days.

I am mismatching my prints here, but I also love my galaxy pants too. I make up reasons to wear them – honestly!

Lace Me Up Top and Week 6 Challenge

Happy Valentine’s Day Folks! I have been sewing in between sicknesses and have a few finishes I can finally share!

Lace Me Up Top by More 2 Hug

I am nearly certain I have never tested a pattern with this many options before and I was admittedly overwhelmed.

Back to the sickness…I am literally a mess in all this photos. My sinus is on fire and I am pretty sure my head is about to explode. My eyes are swollen nearly shut BUT this is an awesome pattern and I am telling you about it while it is on sale! I also realized I didn’t even wear my watch this day. I always wear my watch!

Sacrafices! I tell ya!! Here we go! Swollen eyes are a bonus!

This is the everyday T with a scoop neck and flutter sleeves. I also chose to make my hem even but it comes with a hi-lo option. I made this one as my basic fit test, but as you can see it is totally wearable.

Also the Week Six Challenge was to Sew with something Red or Pink.

ChallengeΒ Accepted BABY

This totally has pink it in!

20180212_142713.jpg

Also the girls at work informed me it isn’t an “old lady fabric” as I had been calling it. I think it is cute and I only paid 2 bucks for 2 yards at a thrift store back in the fall. It has Joann’s on the selvage so I am figuring I saved myself about 18 dollars or so from thrifting!

20180212_142724.jpg

For my second test run, I did the Color Blocked Shirt. Ekk!!! I am kinda in love with this one. ItΒ  has the option of lacing up the front, but I chose to just leave the flap detail unlaced. I used the front scoop neckline for the for the back also and banded it. The stripes are connected to the floral in case you can’t tell that here. I also took back views of both of these shirts but they were lost in between my tablet and blog. UGGG

20180212_142438.jpg

The LACE ME UP includes:
– 15 sizes
– everyday version without laces, with your choice of neckline and sleeves
– mock vest/bolero piece
– color block front piece with laces
– scoop or V neckline, with or without laces
– deep V at the back with optional modesty panel
– flutter short sleeves
– short and long puff sleeves with cuffs
– long and 3/4 straight sleeves
– straight, round, or hi-lo bottom

I even used my leftover pieces of SBP Savage in Teal and my matching stripes from Sly Fox Fabrics. (Insert heart eyes here)
