It has been awhile since I tested with Diby Club, but this one was worth the wait! Trust me! Let me show you Helen, beautiful Helen.
Yea I know, I kinda love it also.
This dress comes in maxi, knee, and mid thigh length. There is a slit up the sides of the longer two lengths. I took several inches off the length of this one, but left the slit at the same height.
This was the first time I have sewn a garment with dolmen sleeves, but it made this one a fairly easy construction. I did find the sleeves a little snug in the blue dress so you may want to do a bit of measuring if you have larger arms. It is a personal adjustment. I nearly always need to make it. I adjusted that in the next one. 🙂
This is the full front bodice option. I love how quickly this came together. Well written directions make the casing come together quickly and you can choose buttonholes or grommets.
This beautiful fabric is an ITY from Iamsewblessed. It is gorgeous. It feels amazing! I need more of it! Now Helen 2.0.
OK Helen 2.0 is kinda amazing as well. I shortened the mid-thigh an extra 3 inches so I could wear it as a top instead of a dress. I honestly have no place to wear a short dress. 😉
Did I mention the pockets in this dress? They are large! Roomy enough to tuck in my phone, my keys, and my hands. 🙂 All dresses need pockets. Why don’t all dresses have pockets?
So let’s talk fabric. This amazing Zebra with gold foil ITY came from Sly Fox Fabric. It is a new release from Sly Fox Fabrics. You can check it out here. You need it! Trust me! I have a little bit left and NEED to use it ASAP! You also need this pattern. You can pick it up using the links below.
