Jessie gets an upgrade

Jessie UPDATED 4xl fba

Surprise! Jessie got an upgrade! By upgrade I mean, it now comes with a full bust bodice included with the pattern! Jessie was my first pattern test with 5 out of 4 patterns and I keep on testing for them. I love the fit of their items and all the options they give us!
Jessie is a slim fit pattern with several fun options. Those options include several hem and sleeves lengths, multiple neckline combinations, and fun options for jazzing up the back neckline.
Let’s take a look at the new and improved Jessie! I love that the FBA is included and I don’t have to do it myself any longer! That means Jessie is a little bit faster to sew and I can immediately wear it! Don’t tell anyone, but sometimes I am a last minute sewist and quick patterns really help me arrive to events fully dressed!!

I paired this Jessie with hacked Diane Joggers which you can read about here.
My solid navy Jessie is a tunic length with elbow sleeves. I used a low front and back necklines and added the criss cross straps for fun! Both of these fabrics are from Sly Fox Fabrics.

Jessie number two today! I wanted this one to be a little more “fall ready” so I choose to use the low front and high back option. I do not like the wind blowing on my neck when it is cool. This is a guaranteed migraine trigger for me, so I used the high back and now I have an adorable slim fitting tunic! I added the 3/4 sleeve option here as well. Seriously, fall has arrived in Ohio guys!

How fun is this print? I mean why wouldn’t someone want a swan print shirt? This fabric is some sort of knit blend from Sew Blessed Fabrics. I would say it is a light to mid weight, but has nice recovery. The first time I wore it was while out geocaching in the woods. It wore well all day! Sew Blessed has great pricing and an ever changing selection of prints! She sells out quickly though, so be sure to stalk the website on the weekends!
Here is an assortment of the other Jessie’s I have made. You can also type “Jessie” in my blog search bar if you would like to read about them!
Here are the new option list for Jessie!
  • 3 bodices: Regular, FBA and Maternity
  • 4 hem lengths: Top, Tunic, Short Dress, and Knee Length Dress Lengths
  • 5 Sleeve Lengths: Sleeveless, Short, Elbow, 3/4, and Long
  • Multiple Back Options: High, Low Ballerina, Racerback Insert, and Strappy Back where your imagination is your only limitation!

I am a single dog mom of two and we happily reside in a small house in Ohio. We spend our days playing fetch, digging holes in the garden, and sewing, lots of sewing. We have high hopes of moving to the mountains someday. The dogs don’t really know that yet, but they will understand. I shamelessly hoard fabric and feel slightly sorry for whoever has to sort my stash when I am gone. I am employed full time in a industry that requires little of my creativity, but basically lets me wear whatever I want. So it works out. I can usually be found behind one of my sewing machine avoiding human contact. I test a lot of clothing patterns and therefore always have a new outfit to share. You have most likely found my blog through some sort of sewing outlet and will quickly realize that I am sewing for a plus size body. For reference, I am 5'1 and wear a range from a 2-5x. Sizes change with every designer and you can't trust ready to wear sizing when you are making your own clothing. Your tape measure will become one of your most used tools and if you misplace them like I do, you should pick up several. I will be sharing the good, the bad, and the A-MA-ZING with you… So stay tuned. I will also try to teach you a few of my tricks along the way. People always tells me they want to learn how to sew. My best advice is you have to start. Just do it! You are going to mess up, you will break needles, you will ruin the pretty fabric, you will stab your fingers, but you will learn. You will make something and you will wear it. Someone will say, “I like your shirt.” and you will smile and say, “Thanks, I made it.” You will race home and make something else. Pretty soon you have made more good things than bad and you will feel proud of yourself and you should. I will be proud of you too. :) Ok, that is enough rambling, I have sewing to do. :) SequoiaLynn
